Qithau is a comfortable and warm habitable cruising sailboat, perfect for friendly walks.

My name is Sylvie, I have 53 years old and I started browsing in February 2022. At the start, my idea was simple: being able to take my husband and children to enjoy walks on the water. I then thought about renting sailboats from time to time…but before that, you had to learn.

So I looked for training and discovered the Mediterranean Sailing School in Palavas-Les-Flots, with Benjamin. He was a wonderful trainer. Before you start, I imagined that you had to be very physically strong to maneuver a sailboat, or be an exceptional sailor like Florence Arthaud or Kristen Neuschäfer. I quickly realized that this was not the case: sailing is accessible, and everyone can learn at their own pace. Of course, experience and practice remain at the heart of this learning.

In October 2022, life led me to discover Marseillan, and I immediately fell in love with it.

I sailed there a lot with Jean-Claude and his son Philippe on their sailboat Crunch. These wonderful moments reinforced my desire to anchor myself here, at the water's edge.

This is how my project of buying a sailboat was born.. And when I met Qithau, it was obvious: a real favorite.

Qithau is a Dufour sailboat from 1976. It measures 31 feet or approximately 9.50 m, with 3.20 m wide and a draft of 1.74 m. It is a very maneuverable boat, pleasant to pilot and perfect for sailing on the Etang de Thau.

Since its acquisition in November 2024, I was lucky enough to be surrounded by precious friends to support him and get to know him better.

Xavier, outstanding mechanic, made the engine completely reliable.

Philippe, talented handyman, helped me with a lot of love, to refurbish the safety elements of the boat and to understand how it works.

And finally, Last but not Least, Gérard, Inca owner, is a sailor of great precision and remarkable pedagogy: he helped me get to grips with the boat and learn to navigate.

Thanks to Qithau, I also met a great community of enthusiasts within Atoutvents, which I am very happy to be part of from now on.

Today, I want to share this passion and these moments of sweetness on the water. I therefore offer you friendly walks on the Thau lagoon aboard Qithau.

We look forward to welcoming you on board for a wonderful navigation.

See you soon,

Sylvie
